Released June 2017, this recording features works for flute and piano by composers from across Canada, including: Jean Coulthard and Sylvia Rickard (BC), Heather Schmidt (AB), Laura Pettigrew (SK), Alice Ho (ON), Rachel Laurin (PQ) and Emily Doolittle (NS). World premiere of Coulthard’s Music on a Quiet Song for flute and piano, transcribed by pianist Stephanie Mara from the original for flute and string orchestra. Canadian Panorama
Cambria Master Recordings release of world premiere recordings by contemporary Canadian composers in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. The recording features The Winds of the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Ronald Royer, with Sarah Jeffrey (oboe), Gabriel Radford (horn) and Kaye Royer (clarinet). Four works are commissions by the SPO. Support for the project from the SOCAN Foundation, FACTOR, the Toronto Arts Council and the Ontario Arts Council gratefully acknowledged.
